A Poem
Urgency Required
God can not see those of us
Who stood motionless in wait.
Their horizon is much wider.
There is no right or wrong
Way to act in this world,
They say.
The only thing we can do
Is move, emotion-filled;
Forget waiting it out,
Forget pausing until help arrives.
Forget all the times
You phoned a friend.
There is no grand romantic gesture
That ensures they’ll say yes;
There is no silence that
Can remain unbroken by the breeze;
There is no glory in waiting,
Watching,
Holding our breath.
The only thing that matters
Is how your love manifests.
