Over Extending

A Poem

I could’ve given you anything,
And maybe that’s the problem;
For you, I was the dealbreaker.
You should’ve walked away,
Left the parts of me
You hadn’t already broken
Over the last three years
On the table for me
To have anything left
For anyone else.
You chose to rob me, knowing
I would’ve given you everything;
Knowing the only thing you wanted
Was someone else.
