Mother Knows Best

A Poem

A poem that reads:
Would I recognize you
If we passed on the street?
Were we connected
By anything but
An umbilical cord
And your need for control?
If we met now,
If we met differently,
Do you think
You would’ve learned
From me?

- Mother knows best
