Still… Sometimes you are putting in the work and you feel like you have been at it for so long. I figured out a secret component to healing but unfortunately, it is not always something within our control. What is that key component?
In order to heal from trauma, we have to be in a safe place free from trauma.
In our world, billions of us are subjected to trauma throughout our lives, often on a daily basis. The horrific clash between capitalism and the pandemic has led to most of us surviving daily trauma.
If you’re surviving, I am proud of you. You do not have to be perfect, ever, but especially not right now. If you’re experiencing extra brain fog, heightened symptoms, nightmares, hypervigilance, and more, you’re not alone. I am so sorry you are experiencing this.
I found that throughout the pandemic, some of my go-to tools for distress tolerance, interpersonal skills, and emotion regulation have been failing me.
