Faith and Hate Don’t Mix

I will never understand the Christians who are bigots.

They say we are all created in, God’s image. If that is true, then aren’t LGBTQ+ people, BIPOC, unhoused people, really everyone, created in God’s image?

If that’s true, then doesn’t God transcend gender? Why do we always refer to God as “He” or “Father” when God very often embodies motherly characteristics? When women are also created in God’s image?

If trans people exist, doesn’t that mean God made us? And therefore made us in Their image?

Your Christian bigotry does not hold up to the very values it espouses. In reality, most Christians push a white supremacist, patriarchal and colonial point of view. If you do the work to decolonize your faith, I promise that the love, care, and compassion you will feel from God (or The Universe, or any Higher Power you believe in) will only grow tenfold.

Bigotry is not peace, nor is it welcome in my faith.

We, the Prose

God must have
Been a poet,
A lonely one
At that.
They crafted
Storylines
But, like any
Good poet,
The speaker
Overpowered Them.
Our mistakes are
Works of art;
Our choices
Are poetic justice.
God was simply
Restless -
We are products
Of a wandering soul
And dancing hands;
We are the gifts.
