A Poem

I have never been in love;
At least never like this.
Every love I ever possessed fell flat,
A 2 D drawing of
A dry and broken winter scape,
Until you became an escape.
You brought a spring to my step
I never knew could exist.
I want to run backward in time
To find you in every lifetime,
As though this love were
Our lifeline.
My fingers trace your spine
As I remind myself despite all
The broken bits inside my body,
You love me in such a way
That restacks my vertebrae
And reminds me this -
Everything -
Turns out okay.
The dark corridors of my mind
Were once painted grey,
Until your sunshine bathed
Every part of me
In golden light,
You made me want to stay.
I’m so glorious
At pushing people away
And yet I’ve never felt as beautiful
As the moment I realized
I want you to stay.
Here.
Now.
Then.
I finally laugh in 3D.
